Analysis and Case Study of Informationization of Print Production Schedule

肆, Microsoft Project 98 in print scheduling applications

First, the application of Microsoft Project 98

In the current computer software, there are a number of application software related to time-course control, cost and resource allocation, and each application software has its own special enhanced function. When Microsoft Project 1.0, designed for Windows operating systems, was introduced in 1990, the project management application software rapidly grew in the market. Microsoft Corp. also introduced improvements to the Project version as well as Windows 95. Microsoft has been using e-mail to deliver project information as early as Microsoft Project 4.0. Including job assignment and tracking of progress status can be said to be a pioneer of “group management”. In recent years, the mature structure of "enterprise network" and "Internet network" has made the information reach into a distant world. It is the future star of "group management" and "information communication" in the future. The design goal of Microsoft Project 98 is to meet the new needs of consumers and make Microsoft Project 98 a complete project management tool in the organization. The goal achieved by Microsoft Project 98 is to provide users and enterprise systems with global sales of the best and most complete project management application software. (Note 1)

(I) Establishment of internal data

When the clerk receives a formal order from the customer and brings the manuscript and related accessories back to the company, the staff of the control center must work with the clerk to conduct the manuscript inventory, establish the production specifications and production information, and open each Prepare work forms, at which time the prints formally enter the factory's production process.

1. Basic information of the print

This information includes: the name of the print, the date of order, the date of delivery, the number of prints, and the production specifications and basic information of the print.

2. Job arrangement

After the basic data is established, the personnel of the control center plan the production process according to the needs of the prints. This article will be divided into processes: manuscript production, color separation group pages, imposition plate making, printing operations and binding processing and Other steps. The above steps are the basic process for general printing, and an appropriate production process can be selected according to the printing requirements. The time required for each print is expected to be displayed in a schedule Gantt chart, which will help track the progress of subsequent prints.

3. Working time

The establishment of working hours in this article is due to the limited writing time and the difficulty in obtaining information from the printing plant. Therefore, virtual time is used instead. However, the establishment of the standard production capacity can be referred to in this document.

(B) Tracking and Control of Printing Progress

After the above basic internal data is input, it is set as the standard operating time of the production process, but the actual production is not as planned. The scheduling system will be able to compare the actual and expected working time of the print, using Gantt charts and forms. The report mode shows its current status. As follows:

1. Print job Gantt chart

The schedule schedule is combined with the Gantt chart to show the status of the schedule of the print schedule. And with Gantt Chart, we can better understand the progress of the work schedule. (Figure II)

2. Tracking Gantt Charts

What is shown is that the actual and expected working time can be compared, and that the delay or advance of the printed matter can be known, and the controlling personnel can make urgent and effective arrangements based on this information. On the computer screen, Gantt Chart can clearly present the actual and expected operating conditions in a graphical manner. (Figure 3)

3. Other forms

From the window can be printed data, these data must be input by personnel, is conducive to the output of the report, the form includes: the basic list of printed forms, printed data sheet and other print. This table can be selected in the window.

(III) Report Form Report Analysis

From the above data creation and schedule tracking, based on this information can produce some basic reports. As follows:

1. Printed statement report

Including the print number, order date, quantity, delivery date and so on. (Figure 4)

2. Print process report

Including the print number, order date, quantity, delivery date, expected start time, completion time, and use of printers and points. (Figure 5)

3. Print progress tracking report

Including print number, name, expected (actual) start time, completion time, time difference and working status. (Figure 6)

4. Printing machine load list

Including delivery date, print number, name, quantity, paper, size and ink, and printing sequence. (Figure 7)

5. Print Progress Delay List Report

According to the print tracking report, the delayed printouts are listed. (Figure 8)

6. Production date report

The content includes the completion of production of daily prints, which can be divided into three parts: completed, unfinished, and partially completed.

Second, the printing schedule instance introduction

The contents of this example will refer to the Microsoft Project 98 software included on the CD.

(Figure 8) WU, Conclusion A good computerized production scheduling information system can indeed reduce manpower waste for the company, speed up data acquisition, improve productivity and print quality. Although this schedule has many advantages for printing production schedules, it is still worth noting that the variety and variety of printed materials will make it possible to sort the printed products into different production processes. There is great help. Reference materials
