A high-barrier, antistatic five-layer co-extruded film packaging bag was recently successfully developed and put on the market by Jiangsu Kunshan Huayi Plastics Co., Ltd.
The product has excellent resistance to gas permeation, can resist the corrosion of chemical substances, and is suitable for the packaging of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, spices, food additives, etc., and can greatly extend the shelf life of products.
According to Chen Zhenqiu, general manager of the company, the packaging bag uses ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) and has excellent barrier properties. EVOH's anti-oxygen permeability is one order of magnitude higher than that of polyvinylidene chloride, more than 100 times higher than biaxially stretched nylon, and more than 50,000 times higher than commonly used low-density polyethylene; EVOH's anti-carbon dioxide transmission rate is higher than that of biaxially stretched nylon. 250 times higher, 50,000 times higher than low density polyethylene; EVOH's resistance to nitrogen penetration is 700 times higher than biaxially oriented nylon and 180,000 times higher than low density polyethylene. With the rapid development of China's industrial and agricultural high-tech industries, the export of chemical products is increasing, and the demand for high barrier packaging will be higher and higher. At present, most barrier packaging manufacturers in China are obsolete in terms of technology and equipment. Most of them use nylon co-extruded or coated products, and have been unable to keep pace with the development of high barrier packaging requirements.
Huayi Plastics developed a high-barrier, five-layer co-extruded film packaging bag that was tested by the China Packaging Scientific Research and Testing Center and has a gas barrier index of 0.1 order of magnitude. The company adjusts the structure and formulation to meet the needs of users for export product packaging. Users reflected that the product's performance has basically reached the level of imported packaging bags, which has been recognized and welcomed.
