Partial adhesive classification and characteristics

Adhesives are one of the most important auxiliary materials and are used in a wide range of packaging operations. Adhesives are sticky substances that bind two separate materials together with their tack properties. There are many types of adhesives, which can usually be classified as follows:

(1) According to material source
1 natural adhesive. It is derived from substances in nature. Including starch, protein, dextrin, animal glue, shellac, hide glue, rosin and other bio-adhesives; also include asphalt and other mineral adhesives.

2 artificial adhesives. This is an artificially produced substance, including inorganic binders such as water glass, and organic binders such as synthetic resins and synthetic rubbers.

(2) According to use characteristics
1 water-soluble adhesive. Water as a solvent binder, mainly starch, dextrin, polyvinyl alcohol, carboxymethyl cellulose.

2 hot-melt adhesives. The binder is melted by heating and used as a solid binder. General thermoplastic resins can be used, such as polyurethanes, polystyrenes, polyacrylates, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers and the like.

3 solvent adhesives. A binder that is insoluble in water and soluble in certain solvents. Such as shellac, butyl rubber and so on.

4 emulsion adhesive. More suspended in water, such as vinyl acetate resin, acrylic resin, chlorinated rubber and so on.

5 Solvent-free liquid adhesive. It is a viscous liquid at room temperature, such as epoxy resin.

(3) According to packaging materials
1 Paper-based material adhesives. Mainly include starch paste, dextrin, water glass, chemical paste, casein and so on.

2 plastic adhesive. It mainly includes solvent-based adhesives such as styrene butadiene rubber, polyurethane, nitrocellulose, and polyvinyl acetate; water-soluble adhesives such as ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers and ethylene-acrylic acid copolymers; vinyl acetate resins, acrylic resins, and other emulsions. Adhesives; hot-melt adhesives such as polystyrene, polyurethane, polyacrylate, and other thermoplastic resins.

3 wood adhesives. Mainly include bone glue, hide glue, tannin glue, casein, blood glue and other animal glue; also includes phenolic resin glue, polyvinyl acetate resin glue, urea-formaldehyde resin glue and other synthetic resin glue; also includes bean gum and other plant glue.

A general term for non-metallic materials that combine a solid surface with another solid surface due to surface bonding and internal forces (adhesion, cohesion, etc.).

Liquids and beverages are notoriously tricky to package. These products require packaging that can be successfully filled, stored, transported, displayed, purchased, used, and disposed of, all while retaining the product`s quality. Spouted stand up pouches for liquid meet all of these criteria. Spouted pouches unique design allows for flexible filling, either directly through the spout or through a void in the film that is later sealed. These flexible pouches contain liquid products safely, and stand up easily on store shelves for more effective, efficient display. Best of all, when done properly, spouted stand up pouches are one of the lowest cost options for liquid and beverage packaging. Sunway can give you the perfect solutions of liquid packaging  , please contact us if you need .
