Originally constructed during the reign of Charles II and later expanded during the Georgian era, it is now a light-filled , peaceful family home where past and present coexist harmoniously. With calm, clutter-free spaces and an understated air of sophistication, modern luxury is seamlessly integrated into the structure of the old building without disrupting its historical integrity.

The house was originally built by E.W. Godwin between 1878-1879 for Frank Miles, a society portraitist and friend of Oscar Wilde. The current owners wanted to honor its history while creating a home suited for a modern, active family. This wasn’t just a historical recreation. Starting with the abundance of archival material, Rose stripped away layers of later additions, restoring the space’s purity, architectural integrity, and authentic spirit while adding a fresh, timeless quality and new functionality.

Mayfair Apartment

Rose was commissioned to design this apartment by a private client seeking a simple, cozy retreat. Located in the attic of a historic building in Mayfair, central London , it had lost much of its original period charm. Rose aimed to create an interior filled with interest, charm, and softness within a relatively minimalist setting. Her design features, among others, a fireplace wall with built-in bookshelves and log storage in the main living space, along with a custom-made wood and marble kitchen that can be separated from the dining area using rich but unobtrusive drapes.
