Laurysen is absolutely thrilled to share some fantastic news! We recently attended the National Kitchen and Bath Association Ottawa awards ceremony and came away with a remarkable total of six prestigious awards! As our trophy shelf fills up, we're proud to have also received the Houzz Best of 2016 for Design and our 20th Consumers Choice Award.
First off, congratulations go to Wael Bakr, whose bathroom design took home two top honors: 1st Place in Classic/Traditional Bathrooms ($25,000–$39,999) and the coveted People’s Choice Award for Best Bathroom. His creation beautifully blends timeless elegance with modern touches, such as the clever storage cabinets beside the vanity and a serene bathing area that offers both natural light and privacy.
Next, we have Heather Tardioli, whose kitchen design claimed 1st Place in Classic/Traditional Kitchens ($40,000–$59,999). Her design is nothing short of inspiring, balancing brightness and freshness while maintaining an open and connected feel. The distinct zones for preparation, cooking, and serving make this kitchen both functional and stylish.
Natasha Nash also shone brightly with her innovative wine bar design, which won 1st Place in the category of Other Rooms in the House. Her vision transformed the space into a sommelier’s paradise, seamlessly integrating the tasting area into the home through clever tiling.
Elnaz Shahrokhi, one of our newer designers, impressed everyone with her 2nd Place finish in Modern/Contemporary Kitchens ($20,000–$39,999). Her design is both tranquil and efficient, making excellent use of space while creating a cozy spot for casual gatherings.
And let’s not forget Wael Bakr’s third award of the night, this time for the People’s Choice Award for Best Kitchen. His galley-style kitchen proves that functionality and beauty can coexist harmoniously, offering a chic and simple yet stunning design.
