In response to this difficult situation, Fuji Xerox, Hewlett-Packard, Apex and other industry giants have made moves to transform their smart product suppliers such as mobile printing devices and file services.

Recently, Fuji Xerox released the "Intelligent Office Platform" and launched a new generation of intelligent color digital multi-function printers based on the platform, as well as the first "smart work platform" products such as mobile printing, cloud platform, data management, and intelligent office system. . The smart office product also works with companies such as Microsoft and Alibaba to integrate with Microsoft Cloud Services and Alipay online payment. By 2020, Fuji Xerox's solution business will achieve 50% of total sales in China, achieving the goal of transforming from printer manufacturers to smart service providers.

Coincidentally, in the second half of last year, two large-scale mergers and acquisitions in the printer industry were aimed at paving the way for service providers. HP acquired the Samsung printer business and leveraged Samsung’s experience and technology in mobile communications and cloud services to launch smart Service; Zhuhai Apex spent US$3.9 billion to acquire Lexmark, and its goal is to focus on mobile printing products and personalized customization services.

The "Smart Work Platform" series launched by Fuji Xerox is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in the low-end market, aiming to provide them with a more cost-effective intelligent office printing system. "Low-end products account for 70% of the Chinese printer market. This market competition has become fierce. If you only rely on selling products to occupy market share, sooner or later, it will become a loss-making business."
