Packaging Concept: Recycling (on)

Packaging is indispensable. Packaging guarantees distribution efficiency and also extends shelf life and shelf life of food products. British life cycle analysis expert Neil Burke pointed out that with packaging, the loss of goods on the road to consumers is reduced by up to 10 times. Packaging thus reduces the impact on the environment.
The function of boxes and utensils is not only the original function of holding and packaging, but also the expression of aesthetics, reflecting the culture and spirit of their respective eras. Wrapper tokens are uniquely appealing and will not be confused.
Prevent packaging waste
If we look at the shelf of a German supermarket today, we will find that there is no market for fancy packages; the actual packaging that is environmentally friendly is the general trend. Today, the average amount of packaging used for a family of four weeks a week is one kilogram less than it was in 1991. This depends on the packaging regulations adopted in 1991 to reduce the environmental impact of packaging materials. The regulation was amended in the summer of 1998. The ordinance requires the industrial and commercial sectors to recycle and recycle used packaging. In order to remove this responsibility, packaging manufacturers, retailers, and product packers will transfer responsibility to Duales System. The company arranges recycling, sorting and recycling of used packaging products for the industrial sector.
Reduce materials and reduce costs
To meet strict environmental protection requirements, you have to pay. The financial source to support Dual System services is the company's license fee paid for using the green dot tag. The license fee is based on the packaging materials, weight and quantity. Companies using the most practical packaging can save on license expenses. Therefore, at present, companies are using less packaging materials, changing the composition of packaging materials and using materials that comply with the environmental protection approach. Dual Systemd surveyed 50 companies in the first half of 1998 and came up with this finding. About 80% of the interviewed companies stated that since the implementation of the Green Marking System, they have made "a lot" or "very much" changes in the packing materials so as to be able to comply with the actual packaging principles. There are also a similar number of companies who stated that they saved money by using less packaging material.
More than half of the interviewed companies can provide real examples of actual packaging realities, from reducing bags and boxes to eliminating the need for second-tier packaging without tile boxes, and reducing the weight of cans and glassware. With the introduction of the green dot mark in 1991, the average consumption of packaging materials by Germans fell from 94.7 kg to 82 kg in 1998, a decrease of 13.4 percentage points.
Recycling technology reduces costs
The Dual System reduced the license fee of 400 million marks this year, which shows that the initial cost of setting up a recycling system has already been paid back, and the expenses can be further reduced. Both Dual System licensees and consumers can afford to pay for recycling operations. Reducing costs is the motto of the Dual System. With modern technology, more and more recyclable waste can now be recycled at a lower cost. The sorting and processing techniques required for packaging recycling are now integrated into fully automated high-tech equipment. The costly and time-consuming manual sorting process is thus eliminated, improving the market competitiveness of recycled materials.
Plastic recycling innovation and development
Cutting-edge technology is being applied to plastic recycling and recycling. Plastic packaging can be further divided into bottles, large plastic films, plates, EPSs and hybrid plastics. Mixed plastics include a variety of dirty plastic packaging, accounting for 62% of the 1997 plastics classification. These multiple plastics are processed into unit plastic blocks at a special processing plant. The plastic is shredded first, and the adhered dirt and impurities such as the lid fragments are removed. The plastic crushed and then squeezed into a coarse grain. These coarse plastics can be easily stored, transported or piped.
The plastic blocks processed by the hybrid plastic can be recycled into raw materials by recycling. Plastics can be decomposed into the original petroleum and gas, and then processed into petrochemical materials such as methanol, or used as reducing agents for steel production. The use of reducing agents is particularly advantageous in protecting resources because of the equivalent replacement of heavy oil and coking coal. The reducing agent, like the treated plastic waste, contains hydrogenated carbon, which removes oxygen molecules from the iron sand to form pig iron. Once a plastic block is fully standardized, it can be a universal renewable raw material for all raw material recycling processes.
Future packaging
For tomorrow's product packaging, this means that environmental issues will continue to dominate the future of packaging. As retailers and consumers demand more and more, packaging designers need to be more creative and innovative. People demand “intelligent” packaging that not only meets the environmental requirements, but also attracts the design, sells the products, and allows the goods to have a longer life and is easier to transport.
There is a need to set a target-oriented packaging that provides the actual packaging functionality, the lowest cost, and the highest environmental protection. The key lies in the environmental protection production policy. To achieve this goal, packaging applications are environmentally friendly and can be made from recycled materials. In addition, packaging should be easy to dispose of and recycle, and that volume and weight should be minimized. Packaging should be based on the principle of reusability, and if it is difficult to do it, it should be able to do it again. That packaging material can be returned to the production circle, thereby reducing the impact on the environment. In fact, Dual System has proven that packaging recycling recycling is a good way to solve the problem of packaging waste. (To be continued)
