Dwayne Bergmann, who grew up in Paris, Missouri, began riding horses at just two years old. By the time he reached adulthood, he had become an accomplished equestrian, competing at the highest levels of the sport and securing world and national titles. These experiences taught him valuable lessons about discipline, connection, and inspiration—qualities that would later shape his approach to interior design. His admiration for the grace and beauty of horses might have planted the seeds for his eventual career in design. After completing his master’s degree in business, Bergmann held senior positions at major retailers like Home Depot and HD Supply, where he honed his understanding of products, construction processes, and project management.
During a visit to Bergdorf’s, Bergmann rediscovered his passion for handbags and decided to design his own collection. Inspired by Hermès, he delved into the craftsmanship behind their iconic pieces, learning that their signature crocodile skin, known as porosus, was used in many designs. Although the experience sparked his creativity, it ultimately reinforced his deep-seated love for interior design. “To create meaningful work, you must live fully,†Bergmann reflects. “Creativity doesn’t thrive in emptiness.â€
In 2014, Bergmann and his husband, Luis Insignares, celebrated the arrival of their twin boys, Carter and Coleman. Parenthood has profoundly influenced Bergmann’s perspective on creativity. “My children are my greatest source of inspiration,†he says. “They remind me of the boundless potential in everyone.†Despite the demands of raising young boys, Bergmann remains committed to pushing creative boundaries. “Ultimately, my mission is to deliver unparalleled designs that reflect each client’s unique vision,†he explains. “There are no limits to what we can achieve together.â€
