Born and raised in Paris, Missouri, Dwayne Bergmann's journey into interior design began with his early passion for horses. Starting to ride at just two years old, Bergmann went on to compete at the highest levels of equestrian sports, achieving world and national titles. These experiences instilled in him values of discipline, connection, and inspiration—qualities that would later define his design philosophy. After completing his master’s degree in business, Bergmann worked as a senior executive at major corporations like Home Depot and HD Supply, where he honed his expertise in product development and construction management.
While visiting Bergdorf’s, Bergmann rediscovered his fascination with handbags and decided to design his own collection. Studying luxury brands like Hermès, he learned about premium materials such as saltwater crocodile skin called porosus. Although the process sparked his creativity, it wasn't long before he realized his true calling lay elsewhere—in interior design. "To create meaningful work," Bergmann once said, "you must first live fully." This belief has driven him throughout his career.
In 2014, Bergmann and his husband, Luis Insignares, welcomed the arrival of their twin boys, Carter and Coleman. Parenthood has not only deepened his appreciation for family but also enriched his design perspective. "My children remind me why creativity matters—they inspire everything I do," he shared. For Bergmann, success means pushing boundaries while staying true to oneself. Whether designing spaces or mentoring others, he remains committed to fostering imagination without limits.
