Pierre Gonalons: Spectacular Dialogues Between Present and Past

Paris-based Pierre Gonalons is not just an interior architect but also a designer whose work breathes life into the dialogue between past and present. Hailing from Lyon, with roots steeped in Italian heritage, Gonalons developed an early fascination with art history and French cultural heritage. After completing his studies at the renowned Camondo School, he carved out a niche for himself with a unique perspective on design and space. At 23, he established his own creative studio and began collaborating with high-end brands like Lalique, Chloé, Pierre Frey, Nina Ricci, Pernod, and Weston, all while launching his own limited-edition product line for international galleries.

Gonalons served as the artistic director for the historic Italian design editor Paradisoterrestre and has collaborated extensively with Italian clients such as Ceramica Bardelli and Masiero. Drawing from centuries of craftsmanship and traditional materials, his designs are characterized by their simplicity and their ability to serve as spectacular dialogues between past and present. His minimalist approach to design is infused with references to pop culture and decorative arts, making his work both timeless and contemporary.

Since 2016, Gonalons has expanded his focus to encompass a variety of interior architecture projects. Following the tradition of holistic interior architects, he meticulously designs every detail of his spaces, from Furniture to the smallest decorative elements. In 2019, he participated in the prestigious AD Intérieurs exhibition and was honored with the AD Top 100 designers award.

Gonalons' work has garnered significant attention from the global press, with in-depth features appearing in publications such as AD, Elle Décoration, Interni Icon Design, and Departure.
