The Xi Industrial and Commercial Department handled a case in which a wrought iron bed purchased by consumers online was damaged during transportation and was compensated by the seller.
In late February, Anxi Consumer Zhuang appealed to the local 12315, saying that on February 5, she purchased a wrought iron bed from Anxi a handicraft company through the pat network, the price was 1,300 yuan, and the logistics cost was 1,500 yuan. Ms. Zhuang paid the above fees through “Tianfutongâ€. On February 9th, the merchant shipped, on February 17, the logistics company delivered the door. When Ms. Zhuang inspected the goods, she found that the wrought iron bed was damaged, and the paint on the top of the bed back was worn. She refused to sign the goods. The logistics company said it can be returned, and is willing to pay 1,000 yuan. However, Ms. Zhuang disagreed and asked the seller to complain to 12315 after she failed to do so, hoping to mediate.
Anxi County Penggu Industrial and Commercial Institute investigated and found that Ms. Zhuang said that the logistics company compensated 1,000 yuan, and its actual loss was 1,500 yuan. The amount of compensation from the logistics company could not be accepted, and the seller was required to bear the corresponding liability. The seller said that there was no quality problem at the time of delivery. The damage to the wrought iron bed was caused by the inadvertent packaging of the logistics company and should be compensated by the logistics company.
After mediation, the seller accepts the return, refunds the consumer's payment and shipping fee of 1,500 yuan through “Tianfutongâ€, and negotiates with the logistics company to reach an agreement to compensate the consumer for 70 yuan.
