6.2 Polymeric Microemulsion Adhesives [6]
Surface tension, viscosity, particle size, and electrical conductivity are the key performance indicators for inkjet printing. The addition of a polymeric microemulsion adhesive to the ink must meet these criteria. The high-molecular-weight compound used as a binder includes acrylics, modified acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymers, polybutadiene single-component polymers, and the like, but mainly acrylics. For example, the IU-104 nanoemulsion resin provided by Rhone-poulene is a 30% aqueous acrylic microemulsion polymer solution with a solid content of 30%, an average particle size of 200 nm, a pH value of 5.5; Tg-13 °C, and a boiling point of 212 °C. The freezing point is around 0 °C.
Figure 2 shows the solid content versus viscosity of IU-104 nanolatex resin. In the specified range of 2-4 mPa·s, the solid content is basically below 25%, and as the solid content continues to increase, the viscosity gradually increases. When the solid content is 30%, it is 9 mPa·s, which is close to the limit value of 10 mPa·s. Therefore, the solid content in the inkjet ink is controlled to be 10%-20%, and the particle size of the resin liquid is 100-500 nm. 99% of the particles are smaller than 500 nm.
The definition of the printing quality of ink jet printing is reflected in the printing process, the outline of the pattern and the performance of the pattern. The printing process includes whether the droplet formation and ejection are normal, and the nozzle and the recovery tank are clogged; the contour of the pattern refers to the outline sharpness of the pattern, the precision of the pattern, the recurrence, etc.; the pattern performance refers to the color fastness of the printed fabric and the fabric feel Wait.
In order to analyze the quality of ink jet printing, Yang Ruxin et al. [6] chose HOSTAFINE pigment microemulsion from Hoechst Celanese. The pigment was Hostafine Rubine F6B (C.1. Pigment Red 184, 12487) with a content of >1% and propylene glycol. >1%, special components 1%, solids 45%. Printed on the Image S4-1000 continuous jet printing machine from TOXOT, France.
