Russia developed a new type of plastic concrete

Russian experts recently developed a plastic concrete using asphalt as an additive. This kind of concrete can be used to lay airport runways, place dock berths, build earthquake-prone areas, or build subway tunnels.
Researchers at the Mentelev University of Chemical Technology in Russia have chosen asphalt pavements that are similar in nature to synthetic polymers and cheap. They added surface-active substances to the bitumen emulsion to evenly distribute the water. After mixing with the cement, the bitumen emulsion could form a thin film on the surface of the hardened cement particles. As a result, it has been found that the concrete synthesized in this way has good toughness and is not prone to cracks.
