The training center where the author is located purchased 3 Mitsubishi XD200 DLP projectors at the same time last year. In the course of more than one year of use and maintenance, many projection failures have occurred. The following is a summary of some of my experience:

In order to efficiently manage and maintain the projectors, we have made it clear that the three projectors must use the same model and the same brand before purchasing the projector. After all, the projectors of the same model and the same brand are the same in installation and use And the remote control they use can also be used universally. In this case, using one remote control can achieve the purpose of remote control of all projectors; in addition, if one of the projectors encounters problems, we can quickly use the other normal work Projector to replace it, which can effectively avoid the phenomenon of delaying teaching due to projector damage. Because the projectors purchased by the author's training center are all Mitsubishi XD200 models, this type of product uses a single-chip digital micro-processing device containing R, G, B, and W color wheels. The size of the device is only 0.7 inches. Size, the resolution of this type of projector can normally reach 1024 × 768dpi standard, and the brightness can reach 2000 lumens. It can be said that the configuration of this type of projector is still good.

In general, the projector has two RGB input ports and two video signal input ports, so before connecting the projector, we must first clarify the specific source of each input signal of the projector. For example, the ordinary desktop computer of the author's training center is connected to the Computer1 port of the projector, the laptop is connected to the Computer2 port of the projector, the video device is directly connected to the Video1 port of the projector, and the video recorder is connected to the Video2 port of the projector. Now the author takes the connection of a laptop computer and a projector as an example to introduce the issues that should be paid attention to when using the projector for demonstration teaching:

First of all, we must pay attention to the physical connection between the laptop and the projector. This problem seems very simple to many teachers who are operating the projector for the first time. In fact, this simple operation is very easy to cause damage to the signal connection port of the projector. Because in the teaching process, many teachers often use a cable to directly connect the notebook and the projector when the projector is powered on, or unplug the connection cable when the projector is powered on. In fact, this operation is not necessary. After a round, the working circuit at the signal input port of the projector is easily burned, so we must standardize the operation in the correct order when connecting or disconnecting the cable, and we must not be lucky. When the signal cable is connected to the computer or the projector, the plug must be firmly fixed to the computer or the projector with the fixing screw. If the cable connection is not in good contact, the projector may occur during the work. There is no image display or the screen has a color cast failure. Of course, after fixing the connection cable, the connection cable should be placed as far as possible along the corner of the wall, and the signal cable of the projector should not be twisted with the high-voltage power line or other communication signal line, otherwise the projection signal will pass through the line When the cable is transmitted, it is easily interfered by strong electric field signals or other communication signals, resulting in jitter or unclear projection display screens; in addition, the connection cable of the projector should not pass through the edges of the doors and windows or other gaps, otherwise the doors and windows are closed At this time, the signal connection cable will be strongly squeezed by external force, which will cause serious color cast failure on the projection screen.

After making sure that the projector's physical line is connected correctly, if you find that the projector is not outputting signals, we may as well press the Fn + F4 composite key on the keyboard (the notebook computer used by the author's training center is COMPAQ Presario 2800, different models of notebook computers switch The operation method of the screen is not exactly the same, but their switching principle is almost the same), so that the signal input mode of the notebook computer can be "only the notebook computer has the signal", "only the projector has the signal", "at the same time on the projector And the signal on the notebook "the three states in turn switch. If during the switching process, it is found that the output signal of the projector has some deviation on the screen, we may wish to use the automatic positioning function (Auto Position) on the remote control to deal with it; if the deviation of the output signal is found to be too large, resulting in the output screen If it is severely deformed, it cannot be adjusted by Auto Position function at this time, then we should adjust the display resolution parameter of the laptop screen to ensure that this parameter is consistent with the output resolution of the projector. When adjusting the output resolution of the laptop, you can right-click the blank area of ​​the system desktop directly and execute the "Properties" command from the pop-up right-click menu to open the system's display property setting window; in this window, we can Select multiple monitors, so that the projector can be regarded as another monitor), and then enter the "Advanced" option setting page, select the "Display" option to set the output resolution of the laptop and projector to the same.

After the projection signal is displayed normally, we can use the remote control to remotely operate the projector; but when using the remote control, it is best to wrap the remote control with a transparent film first, while leaving only the signal transmission port This can prevent the dust in the air from invading the remote control, especially when the teacher's hand has just touched the chalk, it is easy to soil the surface of the remote control; in addition, the remote control can also be waterproof and drop-proof. When using the remote control to perform remote operations, make sure that the signal transmitter is aligned with the receiving window. The left and right deflection angles cannot be greater than 30 degrees, the up and down deflection angles cannot be greater than 20 degrees, and the distance for remote control cannot be greater than 10 meters. Try not to use too much force when pressing the buttons on the remote control. The remote control of the author training center has been used for more than a year. Two remote controls have failed and cannot be used. After careful inspection, they found that their power switches The keys have all failed. This kind of failure is actually caused by the keys being worn too seriously, which leads to poor contact. Do n’t underestimate the inconspicuous remote control. Not only can it bring convenience to our operation, but also its price is very expensive. Once the remote control is damaged, it will cost us more than 1,000 yuan!

When we use the projector for teaching, we may want to emphasize some of the content on the screen. At this time, we should not directly point the target content on the screen with our hands or pointers, because it is easy to block the light of the projector. , It is even possible to make your face into a flower face, the strong light of the projector will also cause direct damage to human eyes, and the contrast between the teacher ’s body and the output signal of the projector is very large, which may affect the teacher ’s image. ; The correct demonstration method should be using a mouse, or you can use the "Laser" button in the remote control to align the content on the screen that needs to be emphasized. When you press the "Laser" button in the remote control, the laser in the remote control will automatically emit a striking red dot, and move the red dot to the content on the screen that needs to be emphasized, which can achieve very convenient teachers and students Interactive communication, the effect of such remote operation is very good, but you need to remind you not to shine the red dot emitted by the laser to people.

When using the projector for on-site demonstration teaching, do not leave the projector on all the time. After all, the brightness of the projector screen is much higher than the brightness around the screen. Students stare at the bright screen for a long time, and their eyes are prone to fatigue. This will reduce the eyesight of the students, which will easily lead to a great decline in teaching effect. During the teaching process, if the projector is not available for a short time, we can press the Still function key on the remote control to clear the contents on the screen. The projection screen will not light up after pressing this function key However, the projector does not turn off the lamp at this time, but is in a special standby state. When we need to use the projector again, when we press the Still function key, we can restore the projection lamp to its normal working state.

Generally speaking, the projector bulb is a consumable item, and the price is very expensive. The cost of ordinary bulbs can often reach about 2,000 yuan to 3,000 yuan, and the service life of the bulb is often only about 3,000 hours, so the end When projecting teaching activities, you must remember to turn off the power of the projector in a timely manner, and you must not frequently switch on and off the power of the projector, which may easily cause the projector bulb to explode. After turning off the projector's lamp, the projector's cooling fan will continue to work for a period of time in order to discharge the heat emitted by the lamp from the inside of the projector, so after the lamp is not lit, we should wait until the projector's control panel Only when the power signal of the power supply does not blink, can the main power supply be cut off.
