60 years of print transition

● When the "Xi'an Daily" was first published, the printing equipment was extremely simple. Only three off-the-shelf printing machines were used. All of them were manual, and 800 sheets were printed on each side. Hand caster 1 set, new 5th character 1 set.

●Since 1956, Shaanxi Daily Press was commissioned to print the "Xi'an Daily".

● In 1957, the city allocated funds to order a 32-inch rotary machine at Shanghai Steel Machine Factory, which was formally put into use on May 8, 1958. The machine can print 25,000 newspapers per hour, which is 50 times more efficient than the offset printer. Since then, Xi'an Daily has bid farewell to the lithographic report and ended the history of printing by the Shaanxi Daily Press.

● In the 1960s, Xi'an Evening News Co., Ltd., despite being in a difficult economic period, still overcome difficulties and insisted on technological transformation. In 1964, when the economy improved slightly, an LB203 small high-speed rotary machine was added, which further improved the printing capacity of newspapers.

● In the 1980s, with the improvement of the newspaper's economic situation, one small high-speed rotary machine, four casters, one puller, one automated lead-out lead furnace and some copper fonts were purchased one after another. In March 1987, a resin plate exposure machine prototyped by Xiguang Factory was purchased and the traditional lead plate was eliminated.

●In 1990, they purchased offset printing machines produced by Huaguang Photographic Equipment and Beijing People's Printing Equipment Factory. In March 1991, the second Beijing offset press was purchased. Laser photocopying and offset printing were fully realized. From this newspaper, we printed farewell to lead and fire and entered the optoelectronic era.

● In 1997, Xi'an Daily acquired the UNISET60 color printing unit of the German company Roland Roland. In April 2001, it purchased and installed the UNISET70 shaftless color printing unit, which can double-face color printing. The Xi'an Daily Newspaper Printing Center has developed into a company with the world's first-rate advanced printing equipment in the northwest region.

●On May 1, 1998, the Xi'an Daily and Xi'an Evening News news editing and editing network system was completed and formally operated. The editor, a reporter, and a computer were all enabled to transmit the photocopies to the printing plant.

● On May 1, 1999, Xi'an Evening News was published on the Internet, and Xi'an Evening News website was built. Every day, the Xi'an Evening News newsletter is sent to the Internet on a regular basis. On December 1, 2000, Xi'an Ribao’s comprehensive business broadband network including news gathering, advertising production, financial management, newspaper printing, newspaper and periodical distribution, and family colleges was completed and opened.
