Analyze and adjust gray balance
Unlike printers, many printers do not allow manual gray balance adjustments. The printer obtains the gray balance either through the C, M, Y three-color RIP curve, or through 4-D conversion (using ICC files or other color management systems).
If the printer requires the use of ICC files to achieve color matching, then using G7 gray balance and NPDC curve to calibrate the printer is not an advantage. For printers very close to printing presses, without 4-D conversion (generally halftone digital proofers), G7 gray balance and NPDC curve can be used to optimize quality, and even further color management is required.
Grey balance accuracy
When collecting the gray balance correction value of the printer (or other stable equipment) using the chart method, each color block in the Grayfinder chart will be used. If you use IDEAlink software, you need to turn off the "smooth gray balance" option in the "grayscale options".
