Project Overview: Video conference system, which contains two levels of content, namely video conference bearer network and video conference service network.

The video conference bearer network mainly solves the problem of how users realize service access through the wide area network, and at the same time, it should also solve the backbone bearer of the video conference system. The access method for end users is DDN. Each terminal user shares or occupies bandwidth with the backbone network service of Jiangnan Securities Co., Ltd. when accessing. When sharing bandwidth, priority processing is performed on the access side, that is to say, the data packet of the video conference should have a higher priority Level, priority forwarding.

The backbone network of the video conference system of the limited liability company adopts a star-shaped DDN structure, and each place is connected to the backbone network by routing. The star-shaped network structure with a network bandwidth of 512k is more suitable for constructing a multipoint video conference system. DDN structure technology has great advantages in bandwidth utilization, transmission quality, multi-service access, etc. The network has the advantages of high bandwidth, certain QoS, congestion control, flow control, etc. It is suitable for the development of H.323 video conference services .

The carrier network of the video conference system, that is, the WAN backbone of the limited liability company, adopts the DDN structure technology and is very suitable for conducting multi-point remote video conferences including data conference services. At present, the mature conference room-level video conferencing system has a bandwidth requirement of 384K, so the company's wide area network 512K line bandwidth fully meets the bandwidth requirements of the video conferencing system. However, due to IP loss and other reasons, the conference bandwidth actually established is 384K.

Overall design:

The company's solution is based on the TCP / IP network, and it can use its own local area network in the company's main venue and branch venues.

Since conference TV transmits real-time image and voice services, it has higher requirements on the transmission network. In order to ensure the communication quality of the conference, the transmission network needs to meet the following requirements:

One is to provide sufficient bandwidth (generally to ensure that the point-to-point connection is above 384K), the transmission line is stable, and to ensure that there is no congestion and low bit error rate;
The second is to minimize network delay. Therefore, the network architecture should use switched equipment as much as possible, so as to achieve better actual use results. Since the basic network construction part does not belong to the scope of this proposal, it will not be discussed in depth here.

MCU (multi-point control unit) is the core part of the video conference system. Only by using MCU can the scale of the video conference system be expanded to maximize the benefits of the video conference system.



The connection between the H.323 MCU and each conference terminal uses the same physical line, but uses different logical channels to complete the communication. Logical channels correspond to TCP connections and UDP connections in the TCP / IP protocol.

Each conference terminal in the MCU communicates in a point-to-point mode, and the conference terminal considers the MCU to be a peer to peer with it. The specific multipoint processing is done inside the MCU and is transparent to the conference terminal.

Since multiple conference terminals share the same physical line to connect with the MCU, the access bandwidth of the MCU must be the sum of the bandwidth of multiple terminals, so in the H.323 system, the MCU is required to have a higher access bandwidth.

The entire system is built on the company's WAN, and its WAN backbone bandwidth is 512K, so it has sufficient network resources.

System scalability:

The company's backbone bandwidth is 512K. Due to IP loss, the conference bandwidth that can be established is 384K. Since Amplesky's VM3000 configured for this video conference system can support 8 users at 512K venues, even if the bandwidth is increased in the future, it is possible to meet the needs when establishing a 512K bandwidth conference without reinvestment. When the conference scale needs to be expanded, you only need to purchase upgraded software without investing in hardware equipment. The VM3000 can be expanded to support 36 users.

Network security and QoS:

The company's wide area network is built on an IP network based on DDN, and the video conference system uses the H.323 protocol framework standard. This standard has no QoS guarantee. Therefore, when there is less traffic in the network, for video conferencing, a service that requires more real-time performance, the quality of the conference can be guaranteed; however, when the traffic in the network is larger, the quality of the conference will decline, even causing The meeting was interrupted. However, the current network traffic of the company department is small, so the quality of the meeting can be guaranteed. However, in the long run, the informatization of the company's system will be gradually put in place. At that time, the business in the network will increase, the network traffic will increase, and the quality of the video conference will be affected.

So we recommend:

On the one hand, increase network bandwidth when appropriate;

On the other hand, some non-Cisco products can be properly replaced with Cisco products, so that QoS settings can be made for the entire Jiangnan Securities Co., Ltd. wide area network.
