Sweden's Pershid company said that this new technology is called Polygiene, which is the result of three years of R&D work by Pershid. Currently, Persil is applying for a patent for this formula. It can be used in a variety of injection molding amino molding compounds. Based on the resin properties, this technology adds anti-microbial and anti-SARS virus elements, and further strengthens the above characteristics by adding a second-generation antibacterial additive. This additive is evenly distributed in the molded product and locked in the resin matrix.

Therefore, it allows the molded product to have antibacterial and antiviral properties for a lifetime and is never weakened, unlike the surface treated product. In addition, this additive does not cause side effects to users and the environment.

This new material has been tested by the University of Milan, Italy, and the Chinese Academy of Military Medical Sciences, and has proven to be effective in killing SARS coronaviruses, bacteria, yeasts, and fungi. It can be applied to a variety of articles that are closely related to daily life, such as light switches, door handles, railings, handphones, and public telephones. The cost is basically the same as that of the original plastic. Taking switch as an example, the cost of using new materials is only about 1% higher than the original cost. Pershid said that this new material will be produced in Europe at first, but the company is studying the possibility of future production in China.
