How to handle the edges of a plastic track field?
Due to the large number of construction materials used in track and field facilities, most of these areas are open-air. Around the plastic surface, there are often various features like drains, sand pits, and obstacle pools. If these elements are not properly connected to the base layer, flashing edges can occur. During the installation process, these flashing edges tend to expand and tilt quickly, leading to serious damage over time. The best solution is to wrap the base or concrete structure with the plastic surface, as shown in the diagram below.

What is a movable plastic cover?
Track and field facilities often have numerous underground structures, such as inspection wells for water supply, drainage, electricity, and communication systems. These usually come with cast iron manhole covers. Since these covers are on the surface, people walking or running on the track may step on them, which can lead to injuries. Additionally, the shapes and colors of these covers vary, making them visually unappealing. To address this issue, all inspection well covers in plastic track and field areas should be replaced with uniform-sized plastic covers. This not only enhances safety for athletes but also improves the overall appearance of the facility.
The thickness of the plastic cover is typically between 9 to 10 mm. Before installation, it's important to check the height of each well cover. The alignment must be precise, ideally matching the level of the asphalt concrete base layer. This ensures a smooth and professional finish, reducing the risk of tripping or uneven surfaces that could affect performance.
