Preliminary Study on ISDN Transferring Plate Files

At present, China Telecom is vigorously promoting and popularizing ISDN (commonly referred to as “one-line”) services nationwide. Attracted by low prices and many superior features, many units and individuals have converted old telephone lines into ISDN digital lines. The dedicated line mentioned here is not like the DDN's expensive digital line, but ISDN is only a dial-up digital line with a monthly fee of 10 yuan more than the regular phone monthly fee. ISDN is a new form of network service access that has been developed in China in recent years. It is built on the basis of the original Integrated Digital Telephone Network (IDN), which provides end-to-end digital connectivity. Whether it is on the Internet or some other digital communication service, it is an order of magnitude higher than Modem. After the analog telephone network adopts digital transmission and exchange, it becomes IDN. In IDN, analog transmission is still between the subscriber terminal (such as a PC) and the telephone exchange, and a modem is required to transmit digital signals. In contrast, ISDN digitizes all transmissions from the subscriber to the central office, and handles all services in a digital manner. This allows users to obtain superior digital performance. Because ISDN has 2 digital channels, an ISDN line can transmit two channels of digital information at the same time. For example, you can also access the Internet while you are on the phone; or you can send and receive faxes while surfing the Internet, etc.; the maximum transfer rate can reach 128Kbps. This article does not intend to introduce various superior performances of ISDN here. Instead, it focuses on the characteristics of our printing and photocopying industry and talks about how to use ISDN, an advanced network technology, to implement several steps that must be done for offsite transmission of layout files.

First, apply for or modify the line

The full name of ISDN is Integrated Services Digital Network, and English is Integrated Service Digital Network. Before using ISDN, you must first apply to the local telecommunication department. Within 2-3 days after the general application is filled in and paid for, the telecommunications installation class will be installed. The installation process is very simple, and the process of installing the telephone is similar. First of all, from the telephone distribution box to an ordinary telephone line to the room, and then the installation class will be free for you to connect a necessary small device - NT (Network Termiation) network terminal, after the power indicator light on the NT, and then With a digital telephone and central office dial-up calls, if there is a normal call, there will be no problem from the customer to the central office. If you use an old phone line to be converted to a "one pass," the entire installation process is simpler.

Second, install TA equipment

Only NT your “one-pass link” still does not work properly. It is necessary to purchase another terminal adapter TA. TA is an interface device added to the existing non-ISDN standard terminal access ISDN. At present, domestic and foreign production of TA products are more, and divided into built-in and external, generally outside the TA performance is better. This article mainly introduces German TELS external TA products. The connection of the TA is also relatively simple, insert one end of the line with RJ-11 at both ends into the S/T1 port of the NT, and insert the other end into the port marked with ISDN on the TA; there are two standards on the TA. 25 core data lines: one is marked with PRINTER; the other is marked with PC; the end marked with PC is inserted into the printing port of the PC, and the end marked with PRINTER is connected to the printer. This allows you to use the printer while surfing the Internet or other data.

Third, install the driver

TELES driver installation is very simple, as long as the CD into the CD-ROM drive, find the install.exe file in the CD's CaPi \ Win9x folder, and then follow the prompts to easily complete the installation of the program.

IV. Installation of RVS-COM Software

RVS-COM is a comprehensive data communication integration software that comes with TELES and is a Chinese version. It can be used for data transmission, sending and receiving faxes, and establishing a voice phone platform and many other digital services. This article mainly introduces its core software, "Document Delivery Machine" application. Run Setup.exe directly from the root directory of the CD-ROM. Then enter the serial number on the software box and follow the prompts to install it. It should be noted that when proceeding to the "Installation Assistant" step, the phone number you are prompted to enter must be your ISDN number. If your original phone number was 68714122, then this number will be converted to ISDN. Enter the telephone number of the other party you communicate with and do not include the country code and area code. After the RVS-COM software is installed, an icon similar to the Chinese gossip icon will appear in the task bar on the lower right corner of your computer. This is the RVS-COM Data Communication Center icon. Double-click this icon to display a multi-level menu. Click "Open" to tick "Allow user access", then fill in the user name and password, and then specify a folder to allow access. This is to set your computer as the called party. If you want to be the calling party, then the other party's RVS-COM software must also be set accordingly.

V. Start sending layout

With the RVS-COM document transfer machine, file transfer tasks between computers can be performed quickly and easily. The other computer participating in the communication must have RVS-COM software or a program that operates in accordance with the ISDN European Document Delivery Standard protocol. When exchanging data with a distant computer, the remote computer only needs to activate the RVS-COM communication center to receive the visiting communication function. You can manage all the settings (such as numbers, connection records, and access data) needed to exchange data with the other party through the document delivery connection file. After the connection is established, the document delivery machine provides you with a user interface similar to the Windows 98 system explorer. The computer's document will be displayed on your computer. You can use the mouse to drag and drop the files you want to transfer between the windows. The operation is very convenient. The steps are as follows:

1. Start RVS-COM Document Passer.

2. A dialog box "New connection j will be displayed. Open the "Name" of the selection list of the input field, select an existing communication partner's name, or enter a new communication partner's "name". Then enter and select the other party's "number", set whether the other party uses RVS-COM or use "ISDN European Document Delivery", and then click [Continue].

3. Please enter your "Use Name" and "Password" in the "Connection" dialog box. If you do not use a name and password, you can leave these fields blank, and then press Connect.

4. Now that the connection is established, the directory that opens to you is displayed.

5. Drag and drop the other person's file with the mouse or use the function of cutting the board (copy and insert) to send the other person's file to your computer (Explorer or Desktop). You can also use this method if you want to pass the file to the other party. If the other party's directory contains subdirectories, you can double-click on the subdirectory to open it. In the transmission process, a string of dynamic numbers will be displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the window. From left to right, they represent the transfer protocol - the name of the transferred file - the percentage of completed transfers - the total number of bytes of the file - the transfer rate.

6. Select the menu command "Connect" and select "Hang up" or click the "Hang up" icon to end the connection.

7. If you make a new connection setup, the program will ask you if you want to save the new connection parameters when you end the RVS-COM document transfer machine. If you want to save, the new connection parameters are added to the "Name" selection list of the "New Connection" input field in the dialog box.

Six, send files from Windows 98 Explorer

1. Select a file in Windows 98 Explorer and then click the right mouse button to open a context menu.

2. Click the context menu command "send to" and click "Document transfer machine or fax machine".

3. A dialog box is opened and you can select "Document Delivery Machine" and click "Continue".

4. The RVS-COM document transfer machine will start automatically.

The following steps are the same as described above. Before the connection is established, the program asks if you want to end the connection immediately after the transfer is completed. When you drag and drop a file into the document delivery window, the program will record the connection for you.

VII. Setting up the permissions required for the delivery of files for remote visitors

Double-click the "Flip Chart" icon with your mouse, and then click "Open." Enter the "use name" and "password" required for "user access" and select a "delivery directory" to use.

Users accessing your computer by guest access can only send and receive files from the directory you have set up to open, and cannot transfer files to other directories on your computer. Users with names and passwords can transfer files to your open directory. .

Prepare documents for communication visitors

1. Select a file in Windows 98 Explorer and then right-click to open a context menu.

2. Click the context menu command "Send to" to open the "Document transfer machine or fax machine."

3. A dialog box is opened. According to your needs, select "user-delivered directory" or "pass-through directory for guest visits" and click "Continue".

4. The selected file will then be copied to this directory.

Nine, using "document delivery machine" to receive communications from visitors

Only when the RVS-COM Communication Center is operating and when the RVS-COM is installed has the relevant settings set up, your "document transfer machine" will be able to receive incoming communications. If you choose the Express Configuration option when installing the software, then the program only opens the guest visit: that is, users who access your computer by guest visit can only receive files from the directory you set open, but not Your computer passes files. Therefore, you must set other methods of access.

Setting up the permissions required to communicate files for communication visitors You can see a report of the connection process when the document passes the visitor to the connection. If the communication visitor has sent you a file, you can find it in the set delivery directory. To view the received file, you can use the mouse to double-click the icon of the Communication Center in the task bar of the Windows system to open a context menu and select "Open", "Use User's Delivery Directory".
