Swiss watchmaker Jeanrichard has joined forces with contemporary street artist Gully for a unique collaboration. The exhibition titled "Philosophy of Art" will be showcased at the Opera Gallery in Paris, France, starting September 19. This exhibition highlights Gully's latest artistic works, and as part of this partnership, Jeanrichard is launching the limited-edition Sanchais Terrascope Timer "Graphiscope" series, inspired by Gully’s distinctive style and signature.
Bruno Grande, General Manager of Jeanrichard, said, “Like the 17th-century pioneer Daniel Shangvisha, Gully is a creative and adventurous figure in his own field. His bold spirit inspired the Graphiscope collection.†The idea for the new series was born when Gully accidentally splashed paint onto a Terrascope Watch while working on a new oil painting, resulting in a one-of-a-kind piece of art that sparked the concept behind the Graphiscope line.
The Graphiscope collection features three limited-edition Chavès Terrascope watches, each produced in an edition of only 25 pieces, each with a unique gemstone signature. These timepieces will be on display at the Paris Opera Gallery from September 19 to October 11, 2014.
Gully shared, “For my work, I wanted to pay tribute to great art masters, especially those who have inspired me. I combine their ideas into my creations.†He also noted, “For Jeanrichard, time is the philosophy of life. My art, too, is a reflection of my philosophy. Though street art and horology come from different worlds, both are unique and extraordinary.â€
During the “Philosophy of Art†exhibition, Gully will participate in a treasure hunt in Paris on September 20, 2014. Participants will have a chance to find a Graphiscope timepiece or a painting by Gully. Registration is open now through September 10, 2014, via the official websites of Jeanrichard, Gully, and the Opera Gallery.
