The advent of winter, 2012 soon, and critical moments of adequate field survival knowledge can save lives for your reference.

text:

Foreword

The 16-year professional military career gave me the opportunity to serve the Special Aviation Service (SAS). As one of the elite members of the Royal British Army, her training goal is to enable combatants to perform all sorts of extremely difficult combat missions at any point in the world, usually in group operations against the main enemy-occupied areas. This requires that combatants must become their own doctors, pilots and cooks. The particularity of the actions is unlikely to make up for them. They must survive well away from home and must be able to deal with all kinds of human-induced or natural accidents and problems. For survival and security, they must master the skills that survive in any environment.

After long-term global service training, I became a survival instructor for SAS.

It is my duty to ensure that every member of the team can skillfully apply these survival skills. The contents that must be mastered when training and executing combat missions form the basis of this book.

When the fog valley is trapped, the jungle is lost, and the deserted sea is stranded, both the soldiers and the civilians will face the issue of survival. In order to facilitate rescue, the only difference is that soldiers need to be concealed, and civilians are eager to attract others' attention. Whether old or young, the strong or the weak, everyone wants to be a survivor. As individuals, the stronger the body, the richer the knowledge, the more opportunities for survival.

When an emergency occurs, many people will face the problem of how to survive. There must be courage to face and prepare for roll-overs, collisions and natural disasters.

It is important to understand how to cope with accidental injury, how to stay healthy, and how to help a more unfortunate companion than yourself in an emergency. Water, food, fire, and shelter are all necessary for survival. You should know how to get them when you are in distress. Sending distress signals can attract the attention of the searcher and bring hope to the rescue work. However, even without assistance, you should be able to find security and know how to cross rivers and trek mountains and rivers.

You may be isolated in any place on earth - Arctic ice or savannah deserts, rainforests or boundless seas. Different environments require unique survival skills. Mountains, jungles, prairies, and swamps can all bring dangers to survival, but at the same time provide opportunities for survival - food, fuel, water, shelter, etc., provided you know how to use them. Climate impact is crucial, and you must know how to cope with the cold and the heat - they will challenge the survivors in different ways. Survivors are those warriors who know how to use guided theoretical knowledge to obtain the necessary items and can adapt to the environment.

When using the methods and skills provided in this book, readers must learn to judge for themselves. For example, an identification test of an edible plant is the only way to determine if an unknown wild fruit or leaf is safe and edible. As long as you strictly follow the methods in the book, it will hardly cause any harm, but keep in mind that the danger still exists. Different people have different sensitivities to toxic reactions - for some people, microtoxicity can also mean great danger. Some of the pitfalls described in the book are quite dangerous, and the installer must take responsibility. In any case, you must not lightly set in places where others may stray. At the same time, when you set a trap, you are very careful and you are very likely to injure yourself.

In learning the skills described in this book, readers should exercise restraint, follow the needs of environmental protection, and avoid the killing of animals. In different regions, it is also possible that some skills violate the law. Keep in mind that this is a manual for use in a survival environment. Only when self-protection must be supreme, it is foolish to seek a normal life. When adventure becomes necessary, it should be turned to it. The first principle of a survival strategy is that it should be carefully weighed before taking risks. The final choice right belongs to you. If you are wrong, no one can make mistakes for you.

By sharing these experiences, knowledge, and skills that I've had with my peers for many years of adventure, I hope this booklet will help you make the right decision when you come to an accident. These methods and techniques have helped us to save our lives more than once - they will also help you succeed as survivors.

Finally, sincerely thank the SAS team for the experience and experience provided in this book. These experiences make the description of this book helpful. At the same time, thanks to Howard Loughton and Tony Spalding for their efforts in publishing the book. Without their hard work and dedication, this book cannot be published.

postscript

The practical value of these knowledge is high, and it comes from the accumulation of my own and the lifelong training and experience of people like me. But don’t think that you just read this book and you’re more than able to survive in adversity. This book teaches you the necessary skills, but it still requires you to apply and practice, but also must have the ability to use these skills.

When I train soldiers or general trainees to survive in sinister conditions, part of my job is to ensure their safety, and I cannot do this for the readers of this book. I can only give you some knowledge and advice, but I can't ensure that what I write is understood correctly. I only know that this book has saved some people's lives in the past. I firmly believe that it will save more lives in the future. These survival techniques must be used with care and reasonableness because it is your responsibility—not mine—if you have harmed yourself or others.

The human body has amazing powers that can cope with difficult conditions and challenging environments. In an extremely harsh environment with little hope of survival, some people have survived. This is a living example. Regardless of the age of the young woman, each person has the instinct to survive. This instinct can be developed to some extent through exercise. Adversity for survival requires good psychological quality, physical endurance, and sufficient knowledge. Assuming that the survival technique is a pyramid, the desire to survive is the cornerstone of its survival. Even if what it does is completely contrary to the book, the desire to survive is enough to enable some people to survive. Of course, having a certain amount of knowledge and dealing with difficulties is relatively easy, so the upper layer of the pyramid is knowledge. Knowledge can increase self-confidence and drive out fear. The third level of the pyramid is training. This does not mean that everything will be tried at will, but it needs to master the skills and keep them firmly in mind. At the same time, the mastery and memory of skills should be completed in training. The Pyramid's completion needs to be supplemented with your tool kit. The correct equipment and reserves are common sense, but survivors do not necessarily know what they will face. In different situations, your chances of survival will be very different. Further develop your own survival instincts, increase your knowledge, improve your training, and prepare your tool kit so that you can cope with everything!

[required items]

To become a survivor means that you need to consider all aspects. This chapter will tell you how to ensure that you have the necessary equipment for any expedition you are about to begin. I suggest that you carry a box-type pouch to carry several carefully selected tools and items. They are critical to survival in the wild and you must be inseparable from it. Knives are your most important survival tool and must be carefully selected and carefully maintained. Personal psychological state is also very important. Must ensure that they have a good physical and mental state, able to cope with all kinds of pressures and dangers. A thorough understanding of the need for survival, especially salt and fresh water, must be understood - one must know how to obtain it.

[survival way]

Humans can almost stand on every corner of the earth. Even in those barren lands, humans can manage to exploit the resources there - hunting or gold panning. At the same time, mankind has accumulated the ability to conquer nature in the face of continuous setbacks. Nature can provide humans with necessities for survival almost everywhere, but in some regions it is very generous and in some regions it is very embarrassing. To enable oneself to benefit from available resources requires personal knowledge, discernment ability and resourcefulness, and more importantly, a desire for survival. Both men and women have proven that they can survive in extremely harsh conditions. They survive because they have the courage to live. Without this courage, all the skills and knowledge provided in this book will be meaningless.

Survival is the art of sustaining life. At an emergency, all the equipment you have should be regarded as a heavenly gift. If the time for rescue is far in the future, in the long journey without maps and compass, you must know how to get what you need from nature as much as possible, and how to make full use of them and how to attract the attention of rescuers. In order to be rescued early, how to choose the right route when crossing an unknown place so that you can return to the civilized world, and so on. You must know how to maintain a healthy physical condition. If you are sick or injured, you should know how to manage to recover. At the same time, you must have the ability to make yourself and your fellow comrades have an optimistic spirit.

Lack of equipment does not mean that you can do nothing. From this book you will have the skills and experience to survive, but these skills and experiences should not be lost over time, let alone as a dogma, and you must be ready to expand your knowledge.

We are always accustomed to living in the land of our hometown - although we still don't feel it - but the real survivors must learn to stay away from familiar living conditions, or when these environments drastically change under natural or man-made destruction. Survive. Regardless of whether the elderly or young people, regardless of his stage in life, he will find that as long as he has mastered these survival skills and knowledge, he can survive. As more and more people are flying around the earth, boating in the rivers or sailing into the sea, going to mountains and rivers or climbing to the summits, or taking a vacation in a faraway tropical country, the space and environment that humans can step into becomes even more Diversified. However, survival skills do not only involve extreme events such as a plane crash, a ship crash or a deep desert car breakdown. When you are tight in your car, you have already provided yourself with more chances for survival. Before or after crossing the street to see if there is a fire or not before going to sleep, it is essentially that you perform your survival skills instinctively. As with survival skills, these habits must be developed.

[Prepare]

You must imagine as much as possible what you will be facing in order to prepare the appropriate skills and equipment. All preparations are for survival. This should become the most basic consciousness. Take appropriate equipment and plan as carefully as possible.

How you equip yourself may have already determined whether you will succeed or fail. When playing backpacks, many people always pretend to be too much and the ultimate offense is self. Such disgusting experiences will let them know what to do, but in fact such situations can be avoided in advance. When you struggle to carry a huge, bulky backpack full of surplus items, but imagine how good it would have been to bring a flashlight or bottle opener, everything was less funny. The choice of goods should be reasonable, this is not a very easy thing.

Equipment check list

Before starting any travel or adventure, open a list of equipment and ask yourself the following questions: â–¡ How long will I leave? How much food do I need during this time? Do you want to bring water? â–¡ Do the clothes I bring suit the climate? Is a pair of boots enough? Considering the road conditions and walking distance, should I bring double backup boots? â–¡ What special equipment do I need to carry for the corresponding terrain? â–¡ What kind of medicine is most suitable?

Make sure you are competent for everything that is planned. The better the personal status, the easier it will be to complete the plan, and it will make you feel better. For example, if you are going to climb a mountain, you should do more regular training before you go. Don't forget to wear your hiking boots when you go. You need to exercise more on foot at ordinary times. When you are training, pack a backpack full of sand and let the muscles enter the state! Physical health is another decisive factor outside of equipment. Can you be sure that your physical condition is suitable for this task? Is it completely prepared for it? Do you have the necessary equipment to complete the task? Before departure, you should eliminate all the annoying burdens and go light.

Prepare a contingency plan of action in case of an emergency. Everything is always difficult, as the actual situation rarely occurs exactly as planned. What should you do when your goal is blocked? What if the vehicle breaks down? What if the weather or road conditions are more severe than expected? How can you reactivate a party that is about to fall apart? What if someone suddenly becomes ill? All this should be prepared in advance.

Health and physical examination

Make a thorough check before you leave, and make sure you have all the necessary injections to ensure that you are able to pass through the area as planned. Vaccination can prevent the following diseases: yellow fever, cholera, typhoid fever, hepatitis, smallpox, polio, diphtheria and tuberculosis. Anti-tetanus injections should also be available. Inoculation requires ample time - complete anti-typhoid protection requires continuous injections of 3 injections within 6 months. If you are traveling through a malaria-endemic area, you should pay attention to taking anti-malarial tablets. You must take them two weeks before the start of the trip, so that you have disease resistance before you reach the malaria-endemic area; you still need to continue taking it within one month after the return.

Remember to visit a dentist before leaving. In cold regions, even healthy, non-destructive teeth will experience pain in cold weather. At a minimum, ensure that you have healthy teeth before starting.

Bring medical kits to meet your needs. When traveling with the team, it must be able to meet everyone's medical needs. If a player on the team is no longer suitable for team action, should he be expelled before he leaves? It is difficult for friends to make such a decision, but it is a must because it is the only choice in the long run. It also needs to be considered that each member's ability to withstand hardship and the response to challenges are different. Stress can often expose individuals to the unknown. In planning any team-based adventure activities, it is necessary to take some phase-out measures when determining team members.

Pre-planning study

The more information you know and understand about the places you will go to, the better. Contact friends who are familiar with this place, study the map in detail and read more relevant materials. Be sure to bring a reliable map with you. Learn more about the local people's lifestyle and characteristics. Learn whether they are hostile or very friendly to foreigners and understand local customs and taboos as much as possible.

The more you understand the details and habits of the lives of the people passing by - especially in a society that is far from being civilized, where people's lifestyles are more firmly bound to their own lives - the survival skills and knowledge you need when you need them. The more it is. Only through careful investigation and research can we have a deeper understanding of how to build houses, take fire, collect herbs, and collect water according to local conditions.

Study your map carefully and have a sensible understanding before you see the land. Do your best to understand more about the time and the geography: the direction of the river and the flow velocity, the drop, the speed of the water, and the presence of the rapids, etc.; how high is the mountain, and how is the slope? What kind of vegetation? How are the types and distribution of trees? How is the temperature, how much is the temperature difference between day and night? When is dawn and when is it dark? Is the moon cloudy? When will the tide ebb and flow? What is the wind direction? Will there be good weather?

Post-study plan

For team adventures, members should often meet to discuss what you want to achieve. Special personnel are responsible for the following matters: medical services, translations, accidents, special equipment and vehicles, driving and guidance, etc. Each member should be familiar with their own equipment and tasks. Must bring all kinds of spare parts, especially batteries, fuel and light bulbs.

The entire course of action can be divided into three phases: pre-action preparation, action execution and recovery. Identify the tasks and goals for each phase and list the progress. In addition, preparations for dealing with unforeseen events are also required, such as the breakdown of vehicles, epidemics, and evacuation of casualties.

To estimate the approximate progress, there should be plenty of time for trekking. There are no harms in being cautious, and it is certainly worthwhile to do better.

Plans that are overly ambitious and out of ability will bring pressure. This will not only cause the executives to be psychologically over-stressed, but will also be physically exhausted, and will lead to erroneous judgments and unnecessary risks. The latter is often the cause of mistakes and troubles. You cannot bring all the necessary water, but you must ensure that you are constantly replenished on the road. Regardless of the course of action you take, the water supply issue must be considered first in the planning process. After formulating and adopting the course of action, non-participating actors or left-behind personnel should also be made aware of it. In this way, if there is an accident, you will still have hope of being rescued. If you are hiking on foot, you should inform the local police and mountain rescue center about the details of the action plan, including the time of departure and expected completion of the plan. If you travel by car, you should notify the relevant transportation department of the travel schedule and route. If you sail to sea, you should accept the supervision and inspections of the Coast Guard and the Port Transportation Department.

Remember: Someone must know what you are planning to do and when. You should keep in touch with them during the preparatory period. This interruption of communication means that you ring the bell. Schedules for ships and airplanes are strictly controlled. If delays and unknown reasons occur, the search group will act and check the course of action for effective rescue. Get into the habit of telling people where you are going and how the schedule is arranged.
