Hardcover Book Production Analysis II

Good placards and labels

When you make a make-up, you must do a good job with the label and mark. The placard mark is the logo marked with the abbreviation of the book name and the Chinese small-letter signature. The mark is an identification block that is convenient for checking the accuracy of folding and identifying how many placards are to be identified in the subsequent processing. In the production of highly confusing varieties (in different language versions) or sets of books, placard marks and signatures will effectively help the stapling operator identify. In addition, changing the length and position of the signature will effectively prevent misprints. The following points are noted for the proper labeling and labeling:

1. When making such marks, they should be as small as possible (generally less than or equal to 2mm) in order to prevent these auxiliary signs from being seen in the book.

2. In order to prevent the ring lining from falling down and appearing in the book, it can be sealed in the ring.

First, seal the lighter symbols on the four or write "front ring" and "back ring" to reduce errors.

3. For the products where the front and rear ring linings cannot be interchanged or cannot be mistaken, the ring lining can be cut and painted with different colors in the sky and on the feet to indicate the difference.

4. When using full-printed ring liners, 3mm wide blanks must be left at the sticky points to effectively increase the bond strength.

5. Paste the ring lining 1mm away from the spine so that the ring lining is not broken when the thread is locked. In any case, the ring lining should remain the same size as the front and back signatures.

6. If glue binding is used, the amount of milling at the finish must be kept to ensure that the ring liner is not milled.

Book shell making skills
1. The production of book shells and book blocks is synchronized. The size of the book case must be determined in accordance with the sample book, and the production and mass production of the sample book are conducted in different environments. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the size of the sample book is consistent with that of the batch product. More attention is required when producing thick books. The production volume of the book case should be consistent with the order, and the number of pages should also be considered.

2. The cardboard used in the book case shall be cut with a disc cutter. The angle of the flat blade will cause the cardboard to leave a gargle and cause the book envelope to be undone.

3. Two shell-making steps are required to make the face book envelope. The medium diameter and the cardboard are firstly bonded, then a 5mm wide and 0.3mm deep gravure is pressed on the edge of the joint, and finally the cover is pasted to ensure that the joint is smooth and accurate.

4. When printing the shell cover, in order to effectively check the accuracy of the printing rules, a 1 mm wide bleeding wire piece can be added to the outer edge of the cover mid-seam position when the plate is made, so as to check the position deviation of the fabric before the shell is made. The book shell needs to be shaped before the hardcover line in order to eliminate the stress caused by the shrinkage of the bone glue after drying, which helps to prevent warping of the book case.

5. The circular endorsed shells should be preheated before forming the upper shell to better conform to the book.

Avoid first and last page breaks

In the course of using the hardcover book, it is easy to break with the first page of the first and last ring liners, especially the thin booklet paper. The solution is as follows:

1. With the consent of the customer, change the first and last posts to thicker paper.

2. Double ring lining. The use of a sheet of eight-sided printed sheets as the head, the tail loop lining for binding, of course, so inevitably in the ring lining on the lock line, it is necessary to take into account the customer's design requirements.

3. Using sewing process. Separate the first and last placards from the middle, sew with the sewing machine at the distance of 2mm from the first half placard (first placard) and the latter half placard (the second placard), and then affix the first and last loop linings to avoid the first and last pages. Break.

4. Spine paper is used. After the first and last ring linings are affixed, 20mm of spine paper is wrapped around the root of the ring lining, and the 3mm is wrapped in the inside of the signature. In addition, the backfilling process can be completed on SB6000 provided by SIGLOCH. The role of spine paper is to strengthen the bond strength between the ring lining and the book block, strengthen the strength of the ring lining at the book slot (hinge effect), and make the spine firm, which plays an important role in successfully making a good book.

Book block pressed
The compression of the book block is an important part of the book block handling, which can eliminate stress, close the pinhole, and make the back of the book flat and rectangular, especially the compression at the root of the book block. In addition, the folding core of the folded product must also be compacted, which helps to avoid stepping after the book is finished. It is particularly difficult to compress a thin paper book with less than or equal to 16 pages per page. It is recommended to use the nesting process or use a cross-locking method.
