The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a printing material comprising an elongate flexible sheet web. It comprises printing an imprinting coating on at least a portion of the surface of one major surface of the web, embossing with an optically variable device. An embossed coating on the main surface, a metallized paint, and at least a part of the surface of the main surface is metallized. The present invention also provides an apparatus or apparatus for manufacturing the printed material, which includes a plurality of processing sections including an imprinting paint printing section, an embossing section, and a metalization section. The present invention also provides a flexible printing material comprising a flexible sheet web that is made using the method or apparatus or device of the present invention.
