Agfa China Print 2001 Prelude

On March 29, Agfa issued a new product launch in Beijing. Agfa has long been committed to the research and development of prepress products and consumables. This conference is a prelude to the fifth Beijing International Printing Technology Exhibition. The new products released are focused on commercial printing, newspaper printing and packaging printing. Each part is equipped with a series of professional digital workflows, direct plate-making machines and other products, providing a wide range of CTP (Computer-to-plate) to CTF (Computer-to-film) solutions to meet different businesses, applications and Scale customer needs. 1. Commercial Printing - The Galileo Direct Plate System provides CTP solutions for commercial printing including: GalileoViolet, GalileoThermalS, Galileo Talant, GalileoS, and X-CaliburVLF. Two CTP solutions will be shown during the show: the GalileoViolet (photosensitive) and GalileoTalant (free flush thermal) direct plate systems. At the heart of the commercial printing workflow is Agfa's Epson workflow, based on the PDF format of the second generation ApogeeSeries2, which is more versatile and enables designers and printing departments. The key link between the two, ApogeeSeries2 through the management of the digital process, so that direct plate-making system and other output devices to maximize efficiency. The Agile Galileo Violet Laser Plate System (Galileo Violet) is a high-performance photosensitive imaging system for commercial printing. It uses the most advanced violet laser diode (400 nm), due to its short wavelength and the use of a smaller rotating mirror, resulting in an amazing imaging speed. A new generation of flush-free thermal direct plate-making system - GalileoTalant. GalileoTalant no longer requires a rinsing process, which simplifies prepress operations and eliminates the variables associated with the chemical blister process, ensuring high quality results. 2. Newspaper Printing - Polaris Direct-Pattern Series The Agfa Polaris series is designed for the newspaper industry to develop a direct plate-making system. It uses a platform-style design that can meet the needs of newspapers with fast, efficient, and stable plate-making needs. The overall concept of Polaris is mainly aimed at the requirements of mass production. In conjunction with the bending requirements of different printing presses, a variety of three-point positioning and punching positioning devices can be used flexibly. The productivity of the Polaris series can range from 85 to 235 plates per hour (single-sided plates 570360mm, 1016dpi). In addition, a device equipped with a liner remover can also be optionally used to automatically remove the liner in the original plate and send it to a waste paper box, which makes the overall operation more convenient. Polaris is an open system that can operate in conjunction with Founder’s newspaper workflows, giving newspaper customers a safe, reliable, and convenient working environment. 3, packaging printing Agfa provides a complete program for packaging and printing. Provides ArtPro professional packaging software, which is powerful and enables customers to be more comfortable in packaging design. It can not only repair the packaging layout, but also can do quick back-end processing. Trapping is more powerful. 4, digital proofing equipment - AgfaJetSherpa Digital proofing equipment is a key device in the digital workflow. The AgfaJetSherpa2 type, which is suitable for imposition and proofing, and the AgfaJetSherpa43 type digital proofing device designed for color proofing are released. The design feature of the AgfaJetSherpa2 is a fast and high-quality drop-on-demand piezo ink jet system that can output fully open (16 A4 pages) proofs within 10 minutes and complete one off at 360 dpi resolution ( A1 format) Proofing takes only 5 minutes; at 720 dpi it takes only 9 minutes. The fine-adjustment push-feed mechanism and electromagnetic induction positioning system ensure accurate double-sided imposition proofing. Positioning accuracy can reach ±1.0 mm on one off-side imposition proofing. Coupled with the ApogeeSeries2 print driver, digital double-sided imposition proofing can be achieved. AgfaJetSherpa43 color proofing uses six-color output: CMYK plus light cyan and light magenta, high resolution piezoelectric inkjet output (720 or 1440dpi), can produce sharp linework and clear fonts, with AgfaApogeePDFRIP and AgfaColorTunePro color management software, It can accurately mix pink and light networks and can simulate up to 85% of Pantone spot colors.
