KPG new direct imaging printer

KPG's new direct imaging press offers customers an alternative to moving from analog to digital workflows. The DirectPress 5034 DI system combines high quality, high speed and digital automation.

Norwalk, Connecticut USA - Kodak PolyGraphics' new direct imaging press launched in the United States and Canada. Kodak PolyGraphics today announced the full commercialization of the KPG DirectPress 5034 DI system (a two-sided, four-color digital imaging press). The DirectPress 5034 DI system provides customers with a third, powerful choice for CTP and digital printing product agreements for customers moving from analog to digital workflows.

According to the KPG product description, the KPG DirectPress 5034 DI system combines the advantages of high quality printing with the workflow and automation of digital printing. The alliance gives commercial printers, trading companies, or digital service companies the opportunity to tap into the growing demand for high-quality, fast-running cycles, short-run, four-color jobs.

John Schloff, KPG’s Vice President, said: “Our customers are looking for ways to increase business and increase profits. The KPG DirectPress 5034 DI system enables our customers to get what they missed today and cut costs for the current project.”

The KPG DirectPress 5034 DI system is strongly supported by iPresstek's proprietary ProFireTM imaging and thermal plate technology. In March, KPG partnered with Presstek (Nasdaq: PRST) to expand the market for direct digital imaging in the United States and Canada.
