Non-bioplastic bags cannot be used in Paris supermarkets

It is reported that Paris has explicitly banned supermarket retail traditional plastic bags, in addition to biodegradable plastic bags.

Recently, the Paris Mayor's Office issued a statement saying that this decision was made to consolidate the "Energy Transition Law" on packaging regulations and to allow cities to better cope with climate warming and realize a recycling economy.

This only allows citizens to use bio-based biodegradable plastic bags and paper bags and cotton bags as internal packaging.

As part of the event, Novamont SpA, an Italian bio-based plastic packaging company, will supply more than 3 million bio-derived biodegradable plastic bags to the market.

The government will also hold a publicity talk on disposable plastic bags to promote different types of biodegradable plastic bags to the public.
